CAST & CREW

Susan Brigham Ronald L. Walker D Evan Long

Susan Brigham:  "Miranda"

Noted for her work in Phoenix's theater community, with roles in Fool For Love, The Killing Of Sister George, This Property Is Condemned, and various Shakespearean plays, Susan Brigham has recently found herself cast in quite a high proportionate number of the movies produced in Arizona's blossoming independent film scene.
In addition to Blackthorn Rose, Susan also performed the leading role in Viscious Circle.  Other credits include starring roles in Accidents Will Happen, Hack, and Darkfury, as well as a supporting role in No One Would Tell, a movie-of-the-week with Fred Savage.
She studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts [Pasadena], the British-American Drama Academy [Stanford], and the Actor's Lab.

Ronald L. Walker:  Director of Photography / Associate Producer / Sound Mix

Ron Walker has worked on hundreds of film projects, both as Director of Photography and as a final Sound Mixer in Post Production, including features, documentaries, commercials, industrials, television pilots, music videos, shorts, and segments for existing television programs.  Feature film credits include such independents as: Blackthorn Rose, Candidate Kid, Accidents Will Happen, Hack, Green, New Myth, Ninja III and Schikin Vings.  Clients include: the BBC, A&E, The Arizona Opera, The Arizona Lottery, and The Churchill Society.
His experience with filmmaking dates back to grade school, where his very first film netted an award.  Other awards have since followed, including an Emmy, an Addy, a Smithsonian, and a Clio finalist.
As a part-time instructor at Scottsdale Community College, he is noted for turning that institution's moribund film program around.  In the first thirteen years of the film department's history, not one 16mm film was completed, not even a three-minute short.  After Mr. Walker's arrival, there were eight completed 16mm films in the first year and eight more the year after that.
In the last three years, six of his students have gone on to direct features, two of them playing at a total of  twenty film festivals. One won a student Academy Award, one works in post production at Lucasfilm, a handful have gone on to be camera assistants on Hollywood movies, one is a local sound mixer, and one has the 'Editor' credit on four features.  The first time any of these people touched a piece of film equipment was in Mr. Walker's class.
Ron Continues to work on a myriad of projects while currently teaching the first nuts and bolts filmmaking class at Arizona State University.  His twenty-five years of experience and his mini-production studio [16mm and Super 16mm Arri SR2 camera packages] make him an ideal candidate for the independent film.

D. Evan Long:  Gaffer/Jib/Special Mounts/Fx

Dave Long has been working as a freelance cinematographer in Arizona since 1993, and has been producing his own animated shorts since 1991. His Claymation-esque film, "Aesthetico," won honors at the Southwest Student Film Festival in 1994. He received his Associate of Applied Science degree in TV & Film Production from Scottsdale College in 1994, and has shot over 15 student projects.
