Mapping
A N C I E N T C H I N A

Students draw their own maps utilizing 5 different maps from two textbooks to locate major elements of China's geography. Student maps should also include a key, a compass rose, names of bordering countries, the Great Wall, and the Silk Road.

One objective is for students to appreciate how China's vast &varied topography contributed to the development of different cultures and dialects. Additionally students should note the geographic elements that helped to insulate China from the rest of the world for thousands of years.

 

National tests have shown that independent reading at home is a key ingredient for improving a student's language skills!
